About Bing Liu

Name: Bing Liu

Born: May 18th

Height: 6'2"

Birth place: Harbin, China

Education: Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor; Le Cordon Bleu Paris

Interests and Hobbies: Cooking, Lakers, watching replays of Kobe Bryant, making fun of people...

My first impression of Bing, other than him being handsome, is soft but rude, quite but blunt and just overall very weird. He likes to critize and judge people, and he doesn't really listen to what you have to say. He never talked during our lab group meetings, and the only time he would say something was pointing out my mistakes and stupidity. I never thought I would be able to communicate with such jerk, and yet, I have done it. He could be very offensive in the comments he made, and I have been burnt pretty bad by that. I thought no one would ever want to friend him, but he has a huge community of friends around him, and even a fans club now. He likes attention, but only very subtle attention. He may not even like me talking about him in public like this. But who cares, I am just exercising my freedom of speech.

Bing was born and raised in Harbin, China. Being one of the coldest regions in China, Bing's name literally means Ice. Later, his family moved to New York, USA. Growing up in some tough neighborhoods, Bing became the proud-Brooklyn/Queens-Gangstaa-wanna-be, and you can always find that character in him. He started to develop an interest in culinary during the end of junior high. However, situations have prevented him from attending culinary schools right after high school. Instead, he was encouraged to obtain an engineering degree.

But that doesn't stop Bing from pursuing his culinary dream. He had his mind set. In the next 4 years of college, he tirelessly nurture his skills and set his ambition. Bing Liu will become a great chef. In the summer of 2007, Bing was accepted to Le Cordon Bleu Paris for Basic Cuisine and Pastry. Life has changed since then. His dream is no longer a blurry one, but one with real color, real smell and real taste of fine cuisine. Immediatly after college graduation, Bing went back to Le Codron Bleu again to advance his culinary skills.

In the next few months, Bing will graduate from LCB and start his own journey. The road may not be clear and smooth, but he knows that we will always support him.
